GNG EASTER SERVICE: A Living Hope 04-20-2025

Apr 20, 2025    JD Lyle

“… in his name the Gentiles will hope.”                                        Matthew 12:21 (ESV)

The celebration of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is, at its very core, a message of hope.

It is the hope that there is a God who so loved us that he sent his own son into the world to die so that our sins could be forgiven.

It is the hope that, because of what Christ did on the cross, we no longer pay the debt of sin on our own.

It is the hope that, by placing our faith in Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross (not earning it, deserving it, or working for it), that we might be saved.

It is the hope that because he rose from the dead, restored to new and everlasting life on Resurrection Sunday, that we, too, might one day rise again to eternal life.

This celebration, more than anything else, is a message of Hope. No matter who you are, no matter what you’ve done, no matter who you’ve hurt, you can be restored and redeemed. There is nothing to work for. There is nothing to earn. Simply trust him, believe, and begin walking through life with him as your King. He is not dead, he is ALIVE. And our hope in him is A Living Hope.

FOR THIS HOPE WE PRAISE HIM

FOR THIS HOPE WE SING

FOR THIS HOPE OUR WORSHIP

AND OUR VERY LIVES WE BRING

IN THIS HOPE WE’RE WAITING

IN THIS HOPE WE STAND

AND IN THIS HOPE WE LIVE OUR LIVES

UNTIL HE COMES AGAIN.
